Emerging UAVs Threats in Aviation
The emerging threat within aviation that I would like to talk about is the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones, for malicious purposes. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or drones can indeed pose a significant threat to aviation safety and security if not properly managed. While most UAV operators use drones responsibly for various purposes, illegal and malicious drone activities are concerns for the aviation industry. Some of such activities the aviation industry has faced are; unauthorized drone flights in restricted areas. Drones flown in restricted airspace or near critical infrastructures such as airports can interfere with manned aircraft operations and possibly cause mid-air collisions. Interference with air traffic control systems. UAVs operating in prohibited areas or at inappropriate altitudes can disrupt air traffic control communications and radar systems, affecting the ability to manage and direct aircraft safely. Drones can be used to aid in acts of terr...
